This stuff is the best. PLEASE NOTE THIS: The LINER is CLEAR. The ADHESIVE layer is WHITE. Don't pull off the white layer. That is why many reviewers say that this stuff doesn't stick. This reflective tape is handy to have for items you may never have thought about putting this on before. I use this tape with other width TapeCase, tapes on my hard hats, trash & recycle bins and my riding mower so far. I live on a state route and there is always traffic on the road. They have struck my bins that are well away from the roadway so I am conscience of being near the road when mowing or being near the road for doing maintenance. Before I put this on my bins I have had to pick up debris knocked out of my bins every time I put them out for collection but since I've put them on my bins (2/19/15), I've not had this problem, drivers have kept clear.Make sure that you wash with Dawn ( or similar ), rinse well and dry the area that you want to apply this to. This will clean away any possible oils or debris that could prevent adhesion to the surface you want to apply the reflective tape to. Do not apply this tape in cold weather as this will not adhere to cold surfaces. I tried this and it did not work, I just wasted tape. This does not stick to sharp corners but rounded work well. I like this product and have purchased multiple colors and widths. The contrast gets attention even during daytime use.One thing further, peeling the clear backing from the adhesive tape is not easy and I sometimes pull the white, reflective tape off before the clear comes off. This product is not as highly reflective as other, more costly products but it does work for those of us that are budget limited. This product says "engineer grade" reflectivity which is not helpful as far as I am concerned. I would consider this about a class 1 and in case you want to know what the classes mean, here they are;Class 1: Activities that are relatively low hazard from slow-moving vehicles, for example, in a parking lot. Garments must have retroreflective strips 1 inch wide and a minimum of 217 square inches of fluorescent material.Class 2: Activities that take place in proximity to vehicles moving up to 25 miles per hour, for example, railway workers or school crossing guards. The standard requires reflective bands of greater width and 755 square inches of conspicuously colored fabric.Class 3: Activities that take place near traffic moving faster than 25 miles per hour, for example, highway construction. The standard requires at least 1240 square inches of fluorescent fabric, and two-inch retrorefector bands. Only very large vests have enough area to meet this standard. I hope you find this helpfulJust what I neededMost workdays I'm out of the house well before the crack of dawn riding my bicycle to work. I don't ride to work to save money so I'm not as cost sensitive as some commuters. But I do like to be safe. Ever since replacing my reflective sidewall tires, all the brands I tried rode like rocks, with Panaracer Gravel King SK tires, the ride has vastly improved. But I was a bit worried about not being visible from the side.My usual commuter bike is a steel single speed All City Nature Boy. The white reflective tape blends in nicely with the white accents along the fork and rear stays. My wife and I tested how reflective it was before I committed to using it full time. We placed 2" strips on side of the fork, seat, and chainstays. That evening, with my wife in her car following me around an industrial park the reflectors were visible from the rear at least 75 yards away. On a side approach from an intersection, the reflectors on the fork and rear stays gave a good indication that I was in the intersection. She could see me well a T-Bone collision could happen.Between my front headlight, Niterider 750, the rear blinker, a Portland Design Works Radbot 1000 and all my reflective gear, the excuse 'I didn't see you' would be complete bull&%@!.I carry the remaining tape in my backpack. When I happen upon a cyclist with no reflector or lights I offer them a bit of this tape. I know some of my fellow commuters ride to work out of necessity. I want to make sure everybody in the tribe is safe. The only con I have is how difficult it is to remove the backer tape. Once you get it off, it does stick well to a clean surface. This reflective tape is handy to have for items you may never have thought about putting this on before. I also noticed wider tape seems to get noticed by drivers at night at a further distance as I have seen them move left sooner, away from my bins. These are really good. not super bright, they reflect well. I use it on my trailer and truck. would recommend. The tape is good, for the first few weeks. Afterwards, the stickiness started to degrade, and I had the tape fall off. As a motorcyclist, I put this stuff on the back of my jacket and backpack to keep me even safer and more visible.
