Go by measurements might be better. I always buy 2X for my husband and this one was a little tight. I was buying for a wedding, ordered three separate 2X shirt and we're keeping the one that fits. I normally take a medium, but I took the advice from reviews and ordered a size up, which I would advise anyone else to do unless you like a tight fit.I love the shirt, It's just the sizing guide seems out of whack, or the shirt itself was mislabelled, either way the size I received was closer to the Amazon size guide than the posted sizes in the description.So I'd go for a size up at least.A really lovely shirt and the colours are vibrant.
